Torch Height Controls

Thermal Dynamics plasma systems can be interfaced with any torch height control system, but we offer 3 THC options specifically configured for our customers’ requirements.

Thermal Dynamics Integrated Control Option

The iCNC controller includes an integrated Torch Height Control.  This option eliminates the requirement for a separate THC control processor, since all cut parameters are controlled by the CNC.  The iCNC offers high precision control, embedded cut parameter software  and full interoperability with the Ultra-Cut®  Automated Gas Control for operator ease of use.

Thermal Dynamics SC-3100 & SC-3200

SC-3100 & SC-3200 are high precision THC designed for heavy duty applications where the Integrated Control Option is not available.

SC-3100 & SC-3200  utilize a remote pendant for data input.  Operation is simple and easy. The SC-3100 & SC-3200 can also be configured for direct CNC control, eliminating the remote control.

SC-3100 & SC-3200 can be operated in distance mode or in voltage mode.  In distance mode, the controller can be programmed to automatically adjust for electrode wear and can be configured for direct control from the CNC.

The lifter station is designed with a dustproof enclosure to maintain accuracy.  A collision sensor that operates in X,Y and Z axes is also built into the torch lifter station.

Thermal Dynamics SC-11 Torch Height Control

The SC-11 is an excellent choice for air plasma applications or applications where high precision cut quality is not required.  SC-11 is rugged and easy to use.

The operator uses the Remote Control Panel to set pierce height, pierce time, cut height, arc voltage and retract height after cutting.

The Torch Lifter uses a DC servo motor to drive a rack and pinion assembly between 2 vertically mounted v-rails to provide a consistent and precise torch standoff from the plate.
